Robots aim to collect boulders (10" foam balls) from a loading zone and drive through defenses to shoot the boulder to weaken the opposing team's tower. The defenses are laid in two lines across the field, one for each tower. There are two secret passageways on each side of the field for each team to exit their tower's area. Robots can defend by pinning other robots attempting to score against them, or can earn points by defeating defenses and scoring against the other team's tower. At the end of the match, teams can hook onto their tower and climb up for bonus points.

 Fun Facts/Stories


In one of our qualification matches, our entire drivetrain was broken and the wheels were barely even on. We started out in the enemy field with a ball, unable to move. We shot one ball and made it. We sat there for the rest of the match, but the five points we scored put our team over the edge, and our alliance won by a tiny margin of three points.

Our team also got semi-addicted to fruit snacks, which we affectionately renamed as froot snek.
